Tens of thousands of Jewish fighters were awarded with decorations and medals of valor. In the Red Army, more than 150 Jews were awarded with the title of “Hero of the Soviet Union”, and many others were awarded with the Lenin and Slavy memorial medals and other decorations, among the highest in the Soviet Union. In the U.S. Armed Forces as well, as in the Armies of the British Empire and with the other Allies, Jews were awarded with medals among the highest in those Armies.
