קורות חיים

נולד בשנת 1919, בעיר וספרם בהונגריה, בשם מיכאי קאסאש (Mihly Kaszs). היה בין מנהיגי "הנוער הציוני" בהונגריה ויחד עם אשתו דינה עלה לארץ בשנת 1940 באניית המעפילים "LIBERTAD". נכלא על ידי הבריטים בעוון עלייה בלתי לגאלית במחנה המעצר עתלית למשך שנה.

ב-1944, התנדב לצבא הבריטי והיה בין צנחני היישוב באירופה. צנח פעמיים ביוגוסלביה ובצ'כוסלובקיה. חבריו חביבה רייק, צבי בן יעקב ורפי רייס שצנחו איתו, לא שבו. במשך שנה, בזמן שנילחם במחיצת הפרטיזנים באויב הגרמני, ניתק הקשר עימו ולאחר שנה כאשר שב לארץ, נודע כי הוא עדיין בחיים.

את הקורות אותו תיעד בספר "מבצע אמסטרדם". שירת כמזכיר כללי של תנועת הנוער הציוני העולמית. את סיפרו השני "בצל המצודה" כתב תוך כדי מחקר שורשים אודות המשפחה.

נפטר בקיבוצו כפר גליקסון במרץ 2007 והוא בן 88.
