Biography

Pte. Peter Otto Ullman (15/11/1919 Johannesburg, South Africa - 21/06/1944 Italy) service number: 243408V, Imperial Light Horse/Kimberley Regiment "B"Coy, was the son of Heinrich and Helena Ullman, of 21 O'Reilly Road, Berea, Johannesburg.
Prior to enlistment, he worked as a clerk. He was unmarried.
He was killed in action, in a jeep which struck a mine in the Chiusi village area, Italy. He is buried in the Assisi War Cemetery, Italy, Coll. grave V, D, 11.
He is commemorated at the National Jewish War Memorial, West Park Cemetery, Johannesburg and at the South African National Museum of Military History, Johannesburg.
