Louis Julius Abramowitz (21 February 1921 Seymour, Cape Province, South Africa - 13 September 1991 New York, United States) South African Medical Corps, was the son of Woolf Joseph Abramowitz (1882-1953) and Tilly Abramowitz born Preiss (1888-1925) of Port Elizabeth.He was educated at Grey High School and the University of Cape Town. He was an obstetrician and gynaecologist.During World War Two, he served with the South African Medical Corps and served in South Africa, Egypt and Italy. He married Joan Sachs on the 19 September 1954 in London, England. The family lived in Cape Town and subsequently emigrated to the United States. They had three sons.Sources: 1.
