Staff Sergeant Jacob Adelson (2 June 1909 Johannesburg, South Africa - 24 July 1975 Krugersdorp, South Africa) Rand Light Infantry and Duke of Edinburgh's Own Rifles, Union Defence Force, was the son of Israel Adelson (1883 -1950) and Edith (Chaya) Adelson born Treisman (1887-1976) of Krugersdorp.He was educated at Jeppe High School.He served with the 2nd Rand Light Infantry and Duke of Edinburgh's Own Rifles during World War Two. He saw action up North.He married Sarah Shapiro (1916 - 1994) on the 3 June 1945 in Johannesburg and they had 3 daughters. The family lived in Krugersdorp. He was a baker.Sources: 1.
