Biography

Abraham Eliezer Abrahamson (13 October 1922 Bulawayo, Rhodesia - 13 March 2010 Johannesburg, South Africa) known as Abe, was the son of Morris Abrahamson (1892-1985) and Leah Abrahamson born Bejrachovicz (1896-1948) of Bulawayo. He was educated at Milton High School, Bulawayo and the University of Cape Town. He was Managing Director and Chairman of numerous companies. He previously was a member of the Rhodesian parliament from 1953 to 1965. He was President of Rhodesian Jewish Board of Deputies and President ot the Central African Jewish Board of Deputies. He married Anita Pearl Rabinovitz in 1946 and they had three children. The family lived in Bulawayo. He subsequently emigrated to South Africa.

During World War Two he served in the Southern Rhodesian Forces from 1943 to 1945.
