Leon Bloom (21 May 1910 Klipfontein Farm, Boksburg, South Africa - 1 April 1984 Harare, Zimbabwe) was the son of John Bloom (1872-1955) and Rosa Bloom born Kaminsky (1875-1969) of Salisbury (Harare). He was educated at Prince Edward School, Salisbury. He married Sarah Lidsky (1911-1966) in 1936 and they had two daughters. He was a Managing Director and Co-founder of The Lewis Lumber Co. Ltd Salisbury.During World War Two he served as a Sergeant in Nigeria and in the East African Campaign. He was later promoted to the rank of Lieutenant.Sources: 1.
