David Montague Baron (10 November 1919 Bulawayo Rhodesia - 4 October 1995 Bulawayo, Zimbabwe) was the son of Max Baron (1880-1948) and Dora Baron born Lieberman (1885-1963). He was educated at Milton Junior and Senior Schools. He married Lilian Eve Gass on the 11th January 1950 in Johannesburg. He was aged 30 and was listed as a general dealer in Bulawayo. They had three daughters and the family lived in Bulawayo. He was a Director of Company and was active in Jewish affairs in Zimbabwe.During World War Two he served with the Rhodesian forces . He was a Sergeant Instructor P.T. Boxing. He served in Egypt and Italy.His brothers Benjamin Baron (1904-1994), Joseph Baron M.C. (1911-2013) and Hymie Baron (1915-1988) all served in the war. When their father died in 1948, his obituary stated " Four of his sons fought in the late war. One of them was a lieutenant -colonel, one was awarded the Military Cross, and one was a wing commander; the fourth saw service in North Africa and Italy."Sources: 1.
