Biography

Albert Isaac Hatchuel (5 May 1916 Salisbury Rhodesia (Harare, Zimbabwe) - 20 May 1996 Johannesburg, South Africa) was the son of Haim Hatchuel (1884-1960) and Dora Hatchuel born Cohen (1888-1956). He was educated at Prince Edward School, Salisbury, Perse School, Cambridge England and the Institut de Vincennes, Paris France. He married Roma Fuhr on the 16 June 1942 and they had three sons. He was a Director of Companies . He moved to South Africa in 1959 and the family lived in Johannesburg.

During World War Two, he served in the Southern Rhodesian Medical Corps from 1940 to 1946. He was a Warrant Officer in Charge of Southern Rhodesian Territorial Forces from 1938 to 1940 and medical repatriation of Rhodesian Forces from 1942. He received the Southern Rhodesia Long Service Medal.
