Dr. Charles Immerman (28 December 1903 Talsi (Talsen), Latvia - 31 August 1998 East London, South Africa) was the son of Abraham Aaron Immerman (1863-1947) and Lena Simcha Immerman born Blumberg (1870-1961). He came to South Africa in 1904. He was educated at South Africa College School, Cape Town and the University of Cape Town. He was a medical doctor. He married Rose Schwartz (1910-1997) on the 23 May 1932 and they had four children. The family lived in East London.During World War Two he served as a Captain in the South African Medical Corps. His younger brother Heiman (Harry) Immerman (1907-1975) was a Company Quartermaster of the Coast Defence Battalion.Sources: 1. South African Jewry 1976-77 Edition.
