Sidney Leonard Louis

Sidney Leonard Louis (25 May 1919 Manchester, England - 8 October 2008 Cape Town, South Africa) was the son of Oswald Louis (1893-1967) and Eva Louis born Kingston (1899-1960). He was educated at Crumpsall Lane, Manchester, Manchester High School of Commerce and the Indian Military Academy. He married Cecilia Miriam Lewis (1928-2011) on the 11 December 1955 and they had three children. He was involved in the clothing industry in South Africa and worked with Foschinis Ltd.
During World War Two he served with the Indian Army. His rank was 2nd Lieutenant. After the war, he was Commanding Officer in the Territorial Army in the United Kingdom. His rank was Major, Territorial Army Reserve of Officers (T.A.R.O.)
