George Julius Meyers

George Julius Meyers (6 September 1909 Pretoria, South Africa - 11 January 1998 Cape Town, South Africa) was the son of Abraham Noah Meyers (1878-1931) and Polly Meyers. He was educated at Pretoria Boys' High School and the University of the Witwatersrand. He married Golda Hessen (1911-2011) on the 8 January 1939 and they had two sons. He was a director of companies and the family lived in Salisbury, Rhodesia (Harare, Zimbabwe). He and his wife moved to Cape Town, South Africa.

During World War Two he was a Flight Lieutenant with the Southern Rhodesian Air Force (S.R.A.F.) and was a Major with the Royal Engineers.
