קורות חיים

בן חנה ויוסף-חיים, נולד ביום כ"ג באדר א' תרפ"ז (25.3.1927) בירושלים. סיים בית-ספר  תיכון ונתקבל לבית-הספר למשפטים בירושלים, במגמה להיות עורך-דין. בנימין הצטיין בלימודיו וזכה באישור מיוחד מטעם הקונסול הצרפתי בירושלים ללימוד-חינם בצרפת. בינתיים התחיל לעבוד בפקידות בבית-המשפט המחוזי בירושלים.

בימי מלחמת-העולם השנייה התגייס לצבא הבריטי, שירת בחיל- האוויר המלכותי והגיע לדרגת לנס-קורפורל (טוראי ראשון).

בתחילת מלחמת העצמאות הצטרף לחטיבת ירושלים כמ"כ ולחם בקרבות בעיר. עם הפינוי הבריטי מירושלים ערכו כוחותינו את מבצע "קלשון", שמטרתו היתה להשתלט על נקודות מפתח בעיר, ביניהן בניין ברקלייס בנק. בנימין היה בכוח שהתבצר בבניין. הוא נפצע ב-15.5.1948 והיה מוטל חמישה ימים ללא הכרה. הוא מת מפצעיו ביום י"ב באייר תש"ח (20.5.1948) ונקבר בשייח'-באדר א'. ביום כ"ז באב תש"י (10.9.1950) הועבר למנוחת-עולמים  בבית-העלמין הצבאי בהר-הרצל בירושלים.
