Dr Cyril Adler (1903-1988) was the son of Herman Benzion and Helena Adler (nee Lipschitz) and husband of Esther Adler (nee Cohen). He was the founder and director of the Adler Museum of the History of Medicine in Johannesburg. In 1974 the museum was donated to the University of the Witwatersrand with him as honorary director and his wfe as honorary curator. He was a specialist in Physical Medicine. During WWII he was in full time army service. He served with the South Africa Medical Corp and was a Major (1942-1946). He was a life member of the Jewish Ex Servicemen's League.
