קורות חיים

 נולד  ללילי סופי (לבית אליס) ולסם אברמס, ב-5 בנובמבר, 1922, בדרבן שדרום אפריקה.

התגייס לכוח ההגנה המאוחד הדרום אפריקאי (UDF) בתור אלחוטאי (מספר אישי 3749) ונלקח בשבי בצפון אפריקה. היה אחד מ-700 שבויים דרום אפריקאים שנשלחו למחנה PG 110, שבקרבוניה, סרדיניה. הם היוו חלק מיחידת העבודה של העיר באקו אביס ועבדו במכרות הפחם בקרבוניה. לאחר הכניעה האיטלקית, הוא נתפס על ידי הגרמנים באיטליה ונשלח עם חיילים דרום אפריקאים רבים אחרים, שבעבר היו שבויים באיטליה, לגרמניה. היה רשום כשבוי מלחמה במחנה המשנה Stalag IV-D/Z, באנאבורג שבמחוז דרזדן. ממרץ 1944 הוגדר המחנה המשנה כ-'היילג' - מחנה החזרת שבויים הממתינים להחלפה או להחזרה הביתה על רקע רפואי. המחנות שוחררו בסוף אפריל 1945 על ידי כוחות ארצות הברית והסובייטים.

בתום המלחמה, חזר לדרבן, שם התחתן עם פמלה ג'ואן יוז ב-1960. עבד כסוכן מכירות עצמאי עבור יצרנים.

נפטר ב-25 ביוני 1988 בדרבן, דרום אפריקה.
