קורות חיים

נולד לרוחמה ומכלוף אבו ביום 28.3.1921 בעיר ארפוד, מרוקו. בשנת 1931 היגרה המשפחה לאלג'יריה לעיר אוראן שלחוף הים התיכון. כאן למד בבית ספר "אליאנס", אך נאלץ להפסיק את לימודיו לפני סיום התיכון כדי לעזור בפרנסת המשפחה.
בימי מלחמת העולם השנייה, כשבאלג'יריה שלט משטר וישי (המשטר הצרפתי בחסות גרמניה) התנדב לצבא צרפת החופשית ולחם נגד השלטון.
אחרי שחרורו מהצבא עסק במסחר. במקביל נטל חלק פעיל בפעילות משפחתו בארגון העלייה הבלתי חוקית לארץ ישראל, סייע באירוח שליחים שהגיעו מהארץ ובהעברת פליטים יהודים ממרוקו לאלג'יריה ומשם לישראל. בשנת 1947, כשהיו פרעות של הערבים נגד יהודים באזור מגוריו, היה ממארגני קבוצות של צעירים יהודים שהתאמנו ופעלו להגנה עצמית.
בשנת 1948, מיד לאחר הקמת מדינת ישראל, עלה לארץ עם משפחתו. תחילה גרו במחנה עולים בבנימינה, ואחרי זמן קצר עברו לירושלים שזה עתה שוחררה ובנו את ביתם בשכונת בקעה.
בחודש מרץ 1951 גויס לצה"ל ושובץ לחיל האוויר.
ביום 26.8.1951 נהרג בעת מילוי תפקידו בתאונת דרכים בכביש תל אביב – חיפה סמוך לקיסריה. הובא למנוחת עולמים בבית העלמין הצבאי בהר הרצל, ירושלים.
