Otto Ballin (5 July 1900 Dresden, Saxony, Germany - 3 October 1988 Barnet, Greater London, England) was the son of Jacob Ballin (1867-1952) and Therese Ballin nee Schloss (1878-1947). He was an analytical chemist and emigrated to Durban, South Africa in 1929. He married Johanna Coblans (1911-1982) on the 3 December 1933 in Durban. Her family lived in Vryheid and were originally from Germany. The Ballins lived in Durban.During World War Two Otto Ballin volunteered in the Union Defence Force.Sources: 1.
