Biography

Dr. Kalman Ezekowitz (2 July 1914 Uniondale, South Africa - 20 May 1988 Durban, South Africa) was the son of Harry Ezekowitz (1879-1955) and Sheina (Jenny) Ezekowitz born Linde (1883-1963). He was educated at Uniondale High School, University of Cape Town, Royal College of Surgeons, United Kingdom, College of Medicine of South Africa. He was a specialist anaesthetist. He married Ida Lilian Papilsky on the 8 September 1943 and they had three children. The family lived in Durban.
During World War Two, he enlisted in the Union Defence Force and served from June 1940 to November 1945. He was a Major in the 21st Field Ambulance, South African Medical Corps.
