The family emigrated to South Africa and they lived in Springs. Prior to joining the U.D.F., he was a sales representative. He was killed in action. He is commemorated on the Alamein Memorial, Egypt, Column 115 and on the National Jewish War Memorial, West Park Cemetery, Johannesburg.
