Maurice Abramowitz (28 June 1906 Johannesburg - 2 February 1977 Cape Town, South Africa) known as Morrie, was the son of Harris Abramowitz (1876-1961) and Sonia Abramowitz born Mereine (1880-1966). He married Lillian (Lily) Shapiro (1916 -1999) and they had two children.During World War Two he enlisted in the Union Defence Force and served with the 6th South African Armoured Division in the Italian Campaign. His younger brother Benjamin Aaron Abramowitz (1915-2009) served in the South African Air Force.Sources: 1.
