קורות חיים

נולד למרים לבית אורלוף ואליהו קמינסקי, בשנת 1911 בפתח תקווה. הוריו היו מראשוני ארגון "השומר" וממקימי היישוב תל-עדשים. למד בבית הספר החקלאי מקווה ישראל. גדל בתל עדשים. שירת בארגון ההגנה כבוגר קורס מ"מים. היה מראשוני המתנדבים למשטרת היישובים העבריים, בה שירת כסרג'נט מייג'ור (רב-סמל) עד קום המדינה. השתתף בפעולות חומה ומגדל ניר דוד ועוד, כמו גם בפעילות פלוגות הלילה.

במלחמת העצמאות לחם במסגרת חטיבה 9 בקרבות בגליל ובנגב. לאחר קום המדינה היה המושל הצבאי הראשון של הכפר אום אל-פחם שעבר לרשות ישראל. שירת במשטרת טבריה, היה ממקימי משמר הגבול, פיקד בו על אחת מהפלוגות הראשונות, ושימש קצין המבצעים שלו, פיקד על גדוד 2 ונטל חלק במשלחת הדרכה לאתיופיה. בסוף שנות ה-60 כיהן כדובר המשטרה, ב-1976 הקים את יחידת הביקורת בארגון וכיהן כמבקר המשטרה עד לפרישתו בדרגת ניצב בספטמבר 1985. היה נשוי לרינה ואב לארבעה ילדים. בנו גיורא נהרג בקרבות מלחמת ששת הימים.

נפטר בפתח תקווה ב- 4.12.1985 והובא לקבורה בבית-העלמין סגולה. 

אחיו הצעיר רפאל (רפול) היה לימים רמטכ"ל צה"ל.
