קורות חיים

נולדה לחיה וחיים צימרמן, ב-20/9/1913 ביבנאל. ההורים היו חלוצים מהעלייה השנייה.לאחר לימודי יסוד ביבנאל, מאחר ובמושבה ובסביבתה לא היה בית ספר תיכון ולשם לימודי תיכון עברה עם אמה ואחותה לתל אביב. למדה בגימנסיה הרצליה. המשיכה ללימודי ביולוגיה באוניברסיטה העברית בירושלים.  בהמשך קיבלה מלגה מממשלת איטליה ויצאה ללימודי דוקטורט במילאנו, איטליה, עד 1935. עבודת הדוקטורט שלה הייתה "גורמי התנוונות של תפוחי אדמה". בתקופה זו לקחה חלק בפעילות ציונית עם צעירי יהדות איטליה והשתתפה בקונגרס הציוני העולמי ה-19, שנערך בלוצרן.

ב-1942 נענתה לקריאת המוסדות והתגייסה לצבא הבריטי. היא שירתה תקופה קצרה כאחות מעשית בבית חולים צבאי בקהיר, אך בהמשך הועברה לעיסוק בו באו לידי ביטוי ידיעותיה, טיפוח גידולי תפוחי אדמה במזרח התיכון. נחשבה מומחית בתחום מחלות וירוסים של תפוחי אדמה וברת סמכה בגידולם וזכתה להכרה בינלאומית. פרשה לגמלאות ב-1978. נישאה לדוקטור מרדכי (מרקוס) גריס ולהם נולדו חמישה ילדים.

נפטרה ב-1989, נקברה ביבנאל.
